Dekoor
Overview
Dekoor is a modern e-commerce platform for discovering and purchasing premium furniture, built for home owners, interior designers, and furniture enthusiasts shopping online. It presents a curated catalog of furniture sets and best sellers through an elegant, minimal UI designed to feel premium rather than cluttered.
Problem
Furniture shopping online often lacks the premium feel and curated experience customers expect. Existing platforms feel cluttered and don't showcase products in a way that does justice to pieces people are inviting into their homes.
Solution
An e-commerce interface built on restraint: a curated catalog rather than an exhaustive one, a highlighted best-sellers section, and detailed product pages with generous imagery and whitespace. The design language borrows from premium retail — letting products breathe instead of competing for attention.
Architecture
A Next.js and TypeScript application styled entirely with Tailwind CSS. Product data drives categorized catalog pages, a best-sellers section, and individual product detail pages, with the layout system built to stay composed across desktop, tablet, and mobile breakpoints.

Challenges
The challenge was visual, not technical: achieving a "premium" feel through typography, spacing, and image treatment alone. Every added element risked tipping the interface back toward the cluttered marketplaces the project set out to avoid, so most design decisions were about what to leave out.
Lessons Learned
Dekoor taught me UI restraint as a deliberate skill — that whitespace, a controlled type scale, and consistent image ratios do more for perceived quality than any decorative component. Those instincts carried directly into how I approach interface work since, this portfolio included.
